New FFG Insurance Guide for German public

Are our lives being insured at the expense of people and the environment? Life Insurance companies including Allianz, Axa, Debeka, R+V and Zurich are now under the scrutiny of Fair Finance Germany in a new report - and it doesn't make good reading.

In recent years whilst there has been a continuous improvement in German banks' policies on responsible investing, Fair Finance Germany now report that life insurance companies in Germany are lagging far behind.

5 out of the biggest ten insurance providers invest almost 400 billion euros from occupational and private pension schemes - but they hardly apply any responsible investment guidelines to that money!

What is behind the bold statements of CEOs and glossy sustainability reports? Do they live up to their promises to tackle climate change? Where do they stand to promote gender equality, to prevent breaches of human rights, or to fight corruption?

Visit Fair Finance Guide: Versicherungen and have a look at the ranking of Allianz, Axa, Debeka, R+V and Zurich, and check out why they score so badly across 9 themes and sectors.
