Digital Communications Coordinator

18 hrs

Description of the Fair Finance Guide International project
FFGI is an international civil society network, initiated and coordinated by Oxfam Novib and financially supported by the Swedish government. FFGI aims to initiate a race to the top between banks on environmental, social, governance and human rights criteria both nationally and internationally. The network consists of national CSO coalitions in 10 countries all over the world with expertise in areas relevant to monitoring and assessing the financial sector. This assessment is done by using one single internationally agreed upon methodology; the outcomes of the assessments are used to inform consumers, for dialogue with banks and for influencing financial sector regulators at national and international levels.

The project management unit enhances the program and project quality, measures and assesses impact of program/projects, supports the methodological capacity building of staff and partners, supports the communication and campaigning work in each of the countries, secures alignment between Oxfam Novib program goals, country programs, and Oxfam’s strategic goals including structural humanitarian intervention in order to create a just world without poverty.

Main Goal of the Job
To coordinate, align and facilitate the communication and campaign work within the Fair Finance Guide International project, supporting the FFG coalitions in each of the countries and overseeing the communication of the project itself.

Main tasks

Coordination

  • Coordinate the Website and Communication Group (WCG), with representatives from all FFG coalitions
  • Oversee the monitoring and analysis by the FFG coalitions of the use and effectiveness of the communication tools, products, websites and social media fora used, for example with Google Analytics; 
  • Align the support to FFG coalitions that are within the Fair Finance Asia (FFA) project, with the FFA communications coordinator.
  • Tender, negotiate and select service providers for communication tools, materials, products

FFGI communication

  • Development and implementation of a FFGI communication plan and tools
  • Liaise with Oxfam Novib IT staff to ensure the international / local FFG websites are up-to date and operational
  • Work with the FFGI coordinator, IT support and MEL staff on communications material / products necessary to promote the FFGI and publicize programmatic excellence and learning such as blogs, stories, images, infographics, tutorials, press releases, website links, tweets, facebook posts, communiqués, policy notes and publications

Support 

  • Support FFG coalitions in the development and implementation of their communication strategy
  • Advising FFG coalitions on delivering high quality communications materials
  • Support the FFA communications coordinator in his/her work on regional level
  • Provide input for fundraising proposals, operational plans and annual reports
  • Contribute to the organisation of the annual general assembly
  • Contribute to the development of the new FFGI 4 year proposal to Sida

Capacity development

  • Contribute to knowledge development / sharing and mutual learning amongst partners regarding communication on the Financial Sector
  • Contribute to the design and planning of programme learning tools and events to share learning to internal and external stakeholders

You have

  • at least a HBO (Bachelor) degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of three years of experience in a similar position in an international development organization and/or (global) network;
  • relevant qualifications in communications or a related field with substantial work experience;
  • relevant, demonstrable experience in design and implementing digital campaigning within an international NGO setting;
  • relevant experience in coordinating multi- disciplinary and/or international (working) groups, mainly by digital ways of communication
  • demonstrable experience with transfer of knowledge and develop of skills in variety of cultural contexts
  • excellent organizational, communications and interpersonal skills;
  • ability to produce written materials for various audiences and purposes
  • well-developed computer skills; you have familiarity with various communication platforms and tools and an excellent grasp of digital media and emerging communications trends;
  • ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment – within and outside Oxfam - with media, campaigners, ICT, digital and research colleagues;

We offer
Oxfam Novib is committed to providing you with a competitive, fair, and comprehensive pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. The salary range for the position of Digital Communications Coordinator FFGI (Specialist Program Quality B) is set in scale 9 with a salary range between € 2.782,-- to € 4.280,-- based on 36 hours a week.
